Inner Monologue:8/21

From the journal August 2021:

Uncomfortable but liberating truth: nobody cares as much as you care about your art, nobody, not a soul, not a single soul cares as much as you care. You are the caretaker, the guardian, the warden of your creation, but the world? The world is busy, yes, busy with its own noise, with its own rhythm, with its own stories. Nobody notices as much as you notice, no, not the tiniest brushstroke, not the smallest nuance, not the imperfection that gnaws at your heart.

And nobody will be as critical as you will be critical, oh, the critic within, the harshest voice, the relentless evaluator that sits in the corner of your mind, dissecting, analyzing, judging every line, every note, every word. This inner critic is a formidable foe, a formidable foe that can stifle creativity, that can suffocate the very essence of expression.

Stop obsessing over tiny details in your creative journey, stop it, stop the cycle of overthinking, stop the paralysis that comes with perfectionism. You are stalling, yes, stalling, caught in the web of doubt, caught in the spiral of comparison. You are holding yourself back, holding back the flow, holding back the expression, holding back the very art that longs to be birthed into the world.

Your art is a reflection of you, a reflection of your thoughts, your feelings, your experiences, but it does not exist in a vacuum. The world does not revolve around the tiny details that haunt your mind. It is not as critical, not as hyper-aware, not as invested in the minutiae as you are. Your art is a piece of you, but it is also a piece of the world, a piece that deserves to be shared, to be seen, to be felt, even in its imperfect state.

So let go, let go of the obsession, let go of the fixation on the little things that do not serve the greater purpose. Embrace the mess, embrace the beauty in the unfinished, embrace the power of creation as it is, not as you wish it to be. The liberation lies in the acceptance of imperfection, in the freedom to express without the chains of expectation.

Step forward, step forward into your creative journey with all its flaws, with all its rough edges, with all its rawness. Know that the world is waiting, waiting for your voice, waiting for your vision, waiting for your art. In the end, it is not about the tiny details; it is about the heart, the soul, the truth that resonates within.

Uncomfortable but liberating truth: nobody cares as much as you care about your art, and that is both a burden and a gift. It is a reminder to create for yourself, to create for the joy of it, to create because you must. So stop stalling, stop holding yourself back, and let your art breathe, let it live, let it flourish. The world needs your truth, your expression, your unique vision. Let it out, let it shine, let it be.
