Beginner Abstract Lanscapes
Students will learn the basic skills needed to create beginner abstract landscape compositions on paper. We will focus on color, contrast, and composition using gestural marks and paint strokes.
Gelli Plate Landscape Collage
In this fun-filled class, you’ll dive into the world of mono printing on a Gelli plate, learning the ins and outs of this exciting technique. Then, unleash your creativity as you layer your prints to craft breathtaking landscapes that reflect your unique vision!

It’s that time of year again! You know, when you want to impress that tote-ally special someone with your gift wrapping skills, or you’d like to make a friend feel a little extra love, or you just need a fun tote to carry all your knitting projects around. These mixed media totes are that little extra something that make the holidays more memorable.
Colorful Printmaking
Students will draw patterns, shapes, and designs directly onto a painted surface, then use a roller with gel printing plates and acrylic sheets to transfer the acrylic paint onto the paper. Completed monoprints can also be altered with collage pieces and hand-painted additions. All ages welcome!

Abstract Aspens
In this beginner-friendly mixed-media class, let’s play with an autumn color palette and learn some easy texture techniques. Students will learn, abstract painting techniques to create autumn-inspired paintings of aspen trees.
All supplies included.

Explore Mark Making: Techniques, History and Purpose
This two-hour class aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of mark-making in visual art, exploring its historical significance, diverse techniques, and expressive and conceptual purpose. Through hands-on exercises and in-depth discussions, students will gain insight into the rich and impactful world of mark-making in art. Bring any materials you have wanted to experiment with mark-making. Ages 13 and up.

Writing About Your Art
This two-hour class aims to provide artists with the essential skills needed to effectively communicate and articulate their artistic practice, vision, and personal story. Through a series of interactive discussions, writing exercises, and critical analysis, students will develop the ability to craft compelling artist statements, elevator pitches, and bio pages that resonate with their audience and effectively represent their artistic identity. Bring laptop or tablet for writing exercises. Ages 13 and up.
Color Foundations for Acrylics Painting: Unleashing the Power of Pigments
This two-hour class aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of color theory and its practical application in acrylic painting. Through a series of in-depth discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on color-mixing activities, students will develop a foundational knowledge of color principles, enhancing their ability to apply color effectively in their acrylic painting practice. Ages 13 and up.

Beginner Abstract Florals
We have teamed up with Coppermuse Distillery for fun creative evenings! They have a great event space and a variety of drinks. We bring the art! Your class fee includes one free drink.
Are you craving flowers and color? Do you love to play with paint? This class is perfect for you! Participants will experiment with color combinations, and learn the beginning concepts of abstracting shape, line, and form to create an abstract floral composition.
Beeswax Photo Transfer
Have fun creating layered collages using a beeswax photo transfer technique, acrylic paint, fabric, and paper. Create a fun conversation piece that looks great on a window sill, bookcase, or side table. Once you learn the techniques, you’ll be addicted!
You are welcome to bring your black-and-white photograph. It has to be a laser printer or photocopy, no Jet printers; and copyright-free..
Ages 10 and up are welcome!
Intro to Surreal Collage
Surreal collage allows artists to rapidly combine and juxtapose pre-existing elements, whether words or images, and transform them into new creations. The Surrealists saw collage as a means to enact what they considered the fundamental poetic activity of the unconscious mind. Both Surrealist poets and artists used collage techniques. Escape the real world and have fun bringing together seemingly unrelated things to create strange narratives and scenes. Once you start, you won't want to stop!
Beginners to advanced. Ages 10 and up are welcome!
*Please bring any photos from magazines, printed from online sources, clip art books, or ephemera. Students must bring all the photos they want to use for collaging. Photos will NOT be provided.
*Please bring an X-acto knife with a new blade, cutting mat, and photos to cut out for collage

Beginner Monoprinting
Monoprinting is a type of printmaking where the intent is to make unique prints. The word “monoprint” means “to make a one-off print” and refers to the most direct and simple form of printing. The list of artists who used monoprinting is extensive, but here are some great examples: Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Edgar Degas, and many more. Students will draw patterns, shapes, and designs directly onto a painted surface, then use a roller with gel printing plates and acrylic sheets to transfer the acrylic paint onto the paper. Completed monoprints can also be altered with collage pieces and hand-painted additions. Teens are welcome!
